INDOOR PICKLEBALL, PLAYGROUNDS AND MORE NEW PLACES TO PLAY ON LONG ISLAND
Nearly 47,000 square feet of fun awaits at this sports arena that replaced Eastern Athletic Clubs last year. It offers a lineup of basketball, volleyball, soccer, lacrosse, hockey, pickleball and more. The space is open to all for leagues (your own or dek hockey, and soon, basketball, through All Sportz), camps (which take place during school breaks), clinics (run by coaches) and rentals, where you can reserve an area of the sports complex for an hourly rate.

METS' BRETT BATY GIVES ADVICE TO LI YOUTH BASEBALL PLAYERS AT CLINIC
The opportunity to pass along his knowledge to elementary school students brought Mets third baseman Brett Baty to All Sportz in Melville, where 130 children took part in his baseball clinic on Monday.
“It’s awesome to be able to help out little kids,” Baty said. “My mom was an elementary school principal, so I’ve always loved helping out the elementary school kids.”
As Baty made his way to the front of the crowd of kindergarten through sixth-graders, chants of “Brett!” and “Let’s go Mets!” could be heard.

BUCKET LIST: ROLLER DERBY ON LONG ISLAND
Long Island has a lot to offer sports enthusiasts, from the Islanders in Elmont, the Long Island Ducks in Central Islip and the Mets and Knicks just a train ride away. But there’s another, unique sport that also can be found on the Island: roller derby.
The fast-paced, full contact sport is played on quad skates, which have four wheels. It combines athleticism, teamwork and a bit of showmanship.
